Intro:

In my poems I had all types of emotions mixed in them. My fist poem is about something that happens long ago I was one of my most fund memories though I can’t remember so of it because I was really young. It was a funny memory because my brother really had a fight with a wall and a car. The words I had picked want to good with what I wanted to tell. Then my second poem is an ode to something that I had wish to pick and I picked a shadow because I though of something that was true to me and a shadow is something. This is because I use to be a shadow of myself. My found poem is what happens all around me it’s funny what you hear because when you think of it you hear so many different things everyday. My “I grow up knowing” I got the idea from a poem we read “I was raised by” was the name. I really like that poem a lot. Then the last poem I had to pick a line from a poet and the line was “oh pray that what we want is worth this running” It end out being more like a love poem and I liked it a lot. Just like all my other poems.

1. "Poetry is like making a joke. If you get one word wrong at the end of a joke, you've lost the whole thing." -William Stanley Merwin

2. memory poem:
I remember this vaguely
I remember a story of my brother that ran into walls
I remember the fun I had
And I remember the name of the island
It's called "Isla Margarita"
This island that had a lot of trees
The nice ice cold water
And the warmth of the morning sun
I remember when my mom woke me to a new day
I get myself out of bed
she made me the food that the world craves
When I would eat the food it felt as if my mouth was melting in flavors
Then it's that time
That time that time that time
SWIMMING TIME
Yes it's that time were I get into a swimming suit
I see the pool as it calls my name
I can't wait when the floaty I just ran into the pool
there I was in the pool some tried to hold me back
But I was to fast so soon I was in a very deep end
I got to swim and it was just so fun.

memory poem #2:
I remember this vaguely
I remember a fight then ended bad
Not any normal fight
It was a fight between a boy and a wall
The wall took revenge on him
There he stood
When he got home mother and father
Ask what happen?
He had said a wall has gotten me bad
A little girl that thought it was funny
giggled as her father clean her brother's wounds.
I remember the fun that little girl had
And I remember the name of the island
That her brother fought with a wall
It's called "Isla Margarita"
The island that was consumed by trees
The Ice Cold Water
That would slamed on the shore
The radiance of the sun's rays in the morning
I remember being woken to a new day
Like a bird I woke calling
For my mother
There she was picking me up from the bed
Then she put me on the chair
She started cooking
The smell would hit your nose
She made me the food that the world craves
When I would eat the food it felt as if my mouth was melting in flavors
Then it's that time
That time that time that time
SWIMMING TIME
Yes it's that time were I get into a swimming suit
I see the pool as it calls my name
I can't wait when the floaty I just ran into the pool
there I was in the pool some tried to hold me back
But I was to fast so soon I was in a very deep end
I got to swim and it was just so fun.

3. Ode my shadow:

There it stand's watching
the shadow
that fallows with out knowing
it watches as they are run around
with pain in it
poor
little shadow
that can never be as happy
but they feel something too
we step over them
and we spit on their faces
the poor little shadow.

Though sometime those shadows stand up
stronger then before not afraid to show it's self
there it stands with a smile on it's face
now not fallowing but leading the way
the little shadow grow
it's no longer sad
but it's not always happy
the poor little shadow tries and tries
until one day we see it
but better then spiting on it
we help
help it find something
that has been lost.

Yes, lost from our minds
lost from our hearts
yet now is when we see it
the shadow was there trying to help us find ourself
it didn't need our help
it just need us too see
see that we have lost our true self
but know that we see
it smiles every day
and it's no longer a shadow but our true self.

This was all thanks to you little shadow
no longer
poor but cheerful
no longer sad but happy
thank you little shadow for showing us
who we really are.

4. Found poem: What happens around me.

My math class is like 1+1 but the homework is more like 1sqrtes to the second power multiplied by an impassable number plus 5.

I need to study it vary hard

What are you doing what are you doing Stop

I’m going to be a cat with cat ears and cattail

What is my history? Why should I care?

Is Lucifer really bad or just missed judged

I missed a retake OH NO

Boys don’t need cake

Strangest dream I had last night

I woke up crying

I’m so assume

5. "I grow up knowing"

I grow up knowing that life is not always easy

That you have to go through hell better anything can change

That you need to fight for your right

“Go have fun and don’t be such a old head”

Kind of Woman

Not controlled by a man

Free to fly

Swore so high

Not afraid to fall cuz I can pick myself up

“You sure are crazy doing what you do”

Sorta Woman

Some big diva

Strong high-class talk

But not so high-class

“You think your cool cuz you got yourself some money”

Type of Woman

Pride bigger then an elephant

Strait from the hood

Willing to fight till the end

No two face wana be

“You’re you and you show it girl”

Type of Sister

Not no pump ass you think you’re all that

To good for any type of man

Hard working

“No stopping you when you got your mind set on something”

Sort of Woman

Some high school girl

Mind set on being higher then others

No falling back

“You better beware or she’ll attack”

No sad unhappy girl

With no self-esteem

Head up high

Never looking back

More stubborn then a mule

“You are just to stubborn to fight with”

Type of Queen

I grow up know that we are stronger then male

Cuz

We

Are

Woman.

6. A riff poem
(with a line from Lucille Clifton's poem.)

"oh pray that what we want
is worth this running,"
worth you fight through
worth your tears
worth you love.
But why?
WHY
DO you run
what is the reason
Reason?
maybe maybe maybe
it's for love
but is it really worth running for
YES
It is
to have someone that is there for you
to not be all alone
to be with someone that
loves you
wipes your tears away
someone to fight through things
someone worth running for.

8. Aeschylus

My poet is called Aeschylus he was born 525/524 BC and died 456/455 BC in the city of Eleusis. When Aeschylus first began writing, the theatre had only just begun to evolve. Plays were little more than animated oratorios or choral poetry supplemented with expressive dance. Many of his poems that are well know is about war and about Greek gods.
